What is your budget? For shocks, go with a good 3-way adjustable coilover system (ie. Buddy Club RS, JIC FLTA2, Tein RS or higher, Zeal B6 or S6). Good coilover systems, but not exactly cheap (they'll run anywhere from $1200-1800). If you're trying to keep the cost down, go with some Koni yellows or Bilsteins.

For tires, I like the Bridgestone RE010. They come stock on Type-R's and NSX's. Very reponsive tire. I love them. They're on the expensive side though. S03's are even better, from what I've read. Haven't actually tested them though. If you want a tire that's cheap and has 95% the performance of an RE010, get the new Yokohama AVS ES100's. Awesome bang for the buck tire. That's what I run on my Civic right now.

If you want some good shocks, go with koni sports (yellow) their height adjustable (3 pertches) and they run about $500.

Alot of people run kyb agx (red) and imo their just a decent bang for the buck shocks. They'll run you about $350 a set.

Decent coilovers are Tein's, you can find them for 700+ for the base model. If I was going to buy coilovers I would save up a little more and buy Zeal's ($1100+).

Coilovers... you guys with them- each time you adjust the height, do you go out and get an alignment. Just curious...

Yes, the S03's are probly the best tire on the market right now for everyday street driving.

However, they are very expensive as mentioned above. A comparable tire that is a lot cheaper would be the Kumho MX line. These are supposed to be great tires, except i hear they dont grip well in wet conditions. Worth investigating on tirerack.com..

Look for a cup-kit perhaps? A good strut/spring setup is what you want. Koni struts are top of the line, complimented with some Bilstein springs. NOW you are talking. That, and a good rear-sway bar, will make your car handle like its on rails.

I know of a few people very happy with just simple Ground Control sleeves and Koni Yellows.....

I myself went with the APEXi N1 Dampers....and I couldnt be happier......Buddy Club has some nice kits as does Tein and Progress....It really boils down to budget and how performance intensive you plan on being.......

Tire wise.....also depends on driving....I am an aggressive driver.....the BFG G-Force T/A KD is an excellent tire but kinda pricey...The Falken Azenis is another good tire....Kumho has released the Ecsta MX which is supposed to be a cheaper equivalent to the BFG for-mentioned......for everyday driving I think you will be happy with the Falken....

to play devils advocate, you could get a non coil over setup. K.I.S.S (keep it simple stupid) works for me

actually any hydraulic damper that has a spring perch attached to it is considered a strut. the more technically correct term for the civic/integra suspension is SLA suspension, or Short Long Arm suspension. Short upper control arm, long lower control arm, with a spring and strut combination tying them together. The 2k1+ civics have a slightly different kind of strut setup called a MacPhershon strut. This eliminates the upper control arm and places a mount on the strut for the upper part of the steering knuckle to mount to. This helps locate the suspension and moves with the steering movement of the vehicle.

Sorry, not trying to sound like a dick. Just an FYI. I always got confused about this, but then I went to UTI and they spent like 2 days covering this crap, and now it's engraved in my mind.
