anyone know where a good junkyard is that has alot of 300zx's i need a lsd and calipers and stuff like that?

what about a J30. i wanted a LSd. i think the year that bolts right into the 240 is 95 or up- someone correct me if i'm wrong

i heard that the j30 was slow to respond in the s13..but then again these were drag racers? is it viscous or clutch type?

maybe i can help.

but i had a J30 LSD in my S14 and it wasnt toooooo bad. it was setup for drag racing so it did its job.

what year 300zx rear end you need?
by the look at your name "datsun" im guessing Z31 Turbo R200 LSD unit?
if so i know where one is, i was gonna buy it but im broke.
also i no where a few 300zx and Q45 R230 LSD unit are too.

i need a newer one like 90 and up
i get my name because i have a 1978 datsun 810 wagon that i have had since i started driveing
i just got the s13 so thats why i am looking for the lsd

Hands down the easiest way to go is with the Z32 rear end and getting early model year J30 axles 93-94(5 bolt flange)
Simple bolt on and no worry about drive shaft length.
Applies to S14 and S13, i've done both
Check DIS on Shepherd, me and my friend got ours there.
Try Acorn salvage for the J30 axles

What year is your 240??? if it is a S14 you will need the J30 shafts from a 92-94 to work with a 300zx lsd. And no mods will be needed for the brakes. I got all my stuff from different places, you will prob. have to do the same. try shepherd.

i usually cruise airline when me and my friends go parts shopping. just start at one end and work your way down. 99.7% of the time youll get everything u need.....plus more.
if that doesnt work just tell one of the places to "put it on the hotline". itll save u half a day and lots of gas.

i ask this because in a vicous, when the liquid gets hot it doesn't work anymore, working as OPEN

They'll last the same amount of time. Get whichever has less miles.

I hate the owner of this place. He's a liar, and should not be trusted. I had a bad experience, so I never go there anymore..

..but.. he does have some good quality nissan/300zx parts. He's located in SW part of town. He has several 240's, 300zx, a couple j30's... just deals with imports.

j30 late 94 model to 96 bolts right on the S13 w/o any modifcation! iono about 300zx because i never heard anyone do such thing! correct me if im wrong!

yes all j30 have Vlsd.... i got mine for 165.. junkyard really works for nissan... well im a good bargener to get that kinda of deal haha that guy want 250 for it hahah

if u find a 94 late model to 96 model J30.. only those years will work, its a 6 bolt pattern. if it is not a 6 bolts instead of a 5 bolts pattern. that is a wrong one. you'll need the axles that comes with it! you'll different bolts to hold up the Diff. it will need to b changed to aka S14 bolts. on the way to a junkyard lookin for the J30 Diff, find a S14 then pull out the bolts that holds up the S14 Diff. voila

forgot to mention for S14 owners. if a upgrade is needed it will be a 5 bolts flange! which i dont know what year model of J30 that is.. because im not a S14 fan :D jk its a 94 and under as a 5 bolt flange

in order for the S14 lsd to fit on a S13.. you'll need to buy the axles that comes with it because S13 has 6 bolt flange and the S14 has a 5 bolt flange

what do u mean by LSD, LSD upgrade or Diff. upgrade? cuz u can just go buy a Kaaz LSD 2 way, thats like 600-800 not sure but a Diff upgrade is like 250!

if i choose a LSD i would choose Cusco 1.5! :thumb:

I know this place in porter that has lots of old 300's. Its on FM 1314. To get there its up 59 north and exit FM 1314 Porter Conroe. Take a left on 1314 at the light and really cant remember exactly how far down it is. Maybe a couple miles like 3-4 if even that. its on the left hand side...cant miss all the 300's just sitting there...lol. Just thought that might help if you havent found it already

the lsd is in the rear end. its in the center of the rear end.

Once again, I'll correct some misinformation...

All usdm 240's have the 6-bolt output shafts!
All 240's have a 4.08 rear end gearing.

all NA z32's have 5-bolt output shafts. You'll either need to swap to 6-bolt ones from an s14 w/ vlsd, or you can get 5-bolt axles from a j30. Or you can modify 300zx axles with your stock 240sx axles(which is what I did for $$ concerns)
All NA z32's have a 4.08 rear end gearing. YOU DO NOT WANT A TT Z32 REAR END. THEY HAVE A 3.6 OR SOME OTHER ABSURDLY HIGH GEARING.

pre-95.5 j30's have the 5-bolt output shafts. post-95.5 j30's have 6-bolt output shafts(they'll be a direct swap). You will need the axles if you get a 5-bolt j30 vlsd. THE J30 VLSD'S HAVE A SLIGHTLY HIGHER GEARING(3.9). It's not a drastic change, but it's noticeable. You'll probably get better gas mileage on the highway...
