View Full Version : Drift Talk Rules and Regulations
I wanted to feel important and put up a sticky. :)
I just wanted to clarify that all main forum rules apply. This means no pr0n outside Los' Lounge, no commercial event advertisements, no classifieds, no excessive profanity, and, most importantly, no discussion of illegal drifting.
Feel free to ask any questions be it about the rules, judging, technique, car type, or even why you think it's stupid. I'm a pretty easy going mod so I'll tolerate quite a bit but if it gets out of hand then I'll have to step in.
Have fun!
New Rule: Discussion of SR vs KA vs anything is banned from this forum due to certain users lack of ability to discuss a perfectly good topic without being immature.

Not to be a prick...why can we talk about illeagal racing and not drifting?
also it is just called the lounge now...los loungs is its own site. :thumb:
Racing stories isn't under my jurisdiction so I have no control over what happens there. I just don't want any chatter about illegal drifting in here. There are plenty of opportunity/places to drift legally in and around the Houston area not to mention that law enforcement officials frequent this board.

drifting started out as an illegal competition. 90% of drifting is STILL illegal.

NO John is right why ruin what few places we have by telling everyone where they are or when we do it. John didnt say that we dont do it just that we dont talk about it here.. Have dinner at Hooters some time thats a good place to talk about it. But not here.

there's a set place and time for drifting. if you're into the sport, you should already know, if not, you haven't been involved long enough.

Great. You do that. Just keep it to yourself. I'm no hypocrite so I won't say that you shouldn't drift illegally. Just keep it off the forum.
BTW, you might be able to get the basics down in parking lots but you'll eventually hit a (figurative) wall. There's only so much you can learn like that.

wow... why is 50 bucks too much allowance to save up? Neighborhood backroads will definatley not allow you to practice any high speed entrys and parking lots really dont let you have a set course.. so im sure you just sling you ass wherever it damn well wants to go... this is, of course, if you even are old enough to drive... not only the fact that you dont have to worry about curbs or cops...
i bet you Mo_Money that you suck at teh drift... :ugh2:

maybe its me because i don't get allowance anymore, and noone wants to hire me, but $50 is alot of money a month to spend on a few minutes to run on a track. maybe when i get a good car, a job, and learn to drift "appropriately", i'll PAY to drift..

its easy to find a job. walmart is always hiring and they will pay you more then minimum wage. have you ever been to a grind event? you get A LOT of seat time at grind events...$50 is well worth it...you get seat time, you get ride alongs with instructors, and if youre lucky mike peters might ask you out on a date!

Man dont let these people talk down to you!!! I dont aprove of drifting on public roads but your right 50$ for someone 16 is kinda a pain for a few hours. There are not many people on here that can put their skills where their mouth says they are anyway. Everyone has to start somewhere. I have not been here long but its always negitive when most post something about what I have to say. I understand its a import site but a car lover is a car lover! right? I dont know much about imports but they are doing crazy stuff with them! I dont hate on anyone cause of what they drive. Just my 2 cents

and if your 16 (like me) its hard to get a good car that can drift and hard to mod it and get spare tires. To practice takes alot of time and money which a regular 16 year doesnt have. I got my 88 supra like a month ago and it overheated to where the head cracked and now im getting an engine swap and its been at the shop for almost a month. Shouldnt take that long to swap engines. sorry for getting off topic but is a 88 supra good to practice with?

If you're 16 and trying to drift, might as well call it quits since you'll be wasting money tearing up your car. If you can't pay 50 bucks or even save up 50 bucks in a month for an event then you don't need to drift. You'll just end up destroying a car and paying more for damages.

Lol, if 50 dollars is too much money to invest in yourself then you should find another hobby.Cars are expensive, stick to pokemon cards or something.
