Are you afraid of the fact that he volunteered for service in Vietnam while Bush was AWOL? Are you afraid of his post-Vietnam activity while Bush was DWI?
Help me out here.

like I said, I wasnt there to see if bush really did go to the guard monthly requirements....the bush camp has submitted documents proving he was at the monthly required meetings...but that doesnt mean jack....they could have fabricated that...he is the president after all........ok, balls in your court, you show me proof he didnt go if thats what you are basing your vote on......
and Kerry went to vietnam for 2.5 months....where the average service man had to do 1 year.....explain that to me......
and surely George was a boozer of sorts way back then.....I got a dwi when I was 16....should it also affect my career 30 years later? people can and do change.................still waiting on some positve Kerry facts though...ever so patiently
Bush was an adult when he got his DUI, getting one when you are 16 is A LOT different

what sig? - that is my post
The point I'm trying to raise isn't whether or not Kerry served or how he served - it is that Bush and his campaign claimed to have no relationship to the "swift boat veterans" group yet there is evidence to ties.
i don't support kerry, i just do not want Bush to be our next president. I don't feel the need to comeback with positive kerry comments.
Bush was 30 when he got his DUI, he also tested positive for cocaine AFTER that.

looking back at the 2000 election, it should be obvious that everyone who voted for bush made a mistake. (i voted for gore)
they voted an underqualified person into office.
bush is an idiot and a puppet for rove, cheney, wolfowitz, etc.
i cannot see how people still support him.

There's nothing good about either of them, but I tell you what:
Let's say I was a manager of a company....and I had an employee who sucked most of the 4 years he worked for me. By November 2nd, I have to fire him and replace him with someone else. All of the candidates for the job had to go through a Human Resources screening before they get to me and one guy made it. The one guy isn't worse then the guy I have to fire, but he's not a hell of a lot better either...........but then again, I have to fire my current employee because he failed me in his 4 years as my employee and I'd rather give someone else a chance before the current guy costs me more money.

Ok, he broke down the 3rd largest army (atleast it was) in the world in a week and some change, made a new un corrupted goverment (comparing it to the last one), threw out a dictator that kill tens of thousands of his own people, the new country is thriving and the standard of living is drastically increased, schools are opened, hospitables are open, clean water, food, free elections will be held by the end of the year.
And who cares if we benefit as well, if so, its a win-win situation.. And there WERE WMD's there before, these things just dont dissappear..
He did very well considering 2 planes took down 2 of our largest trade commercing buildings, that directly effect the economy of the nation *and the world*...
im voting bush, because kerry has nothing to offer.. especially when the dick head flip flops on auto manufactering.. he wants to make every car get some crazy miles per gallon rating, upwards of 40 miles per gallon each.. i want my sports cars..
he lied about owning a SUV as well, when confronted with tree lovers saying he never owned one.. then some research was done, found out he did own a few.. he then said "o it was the families not his"

You know, Kerry is a flip-flopper on purpose. The average un-politically educated voter (who will determine this election) likes flip-floppers.......that's what politicians do best, Bush himself has done it.
But if you want legislative "good stuff", here ya go:
>> He and John McCain negotiated an agreement with Vietnam to provide a full accounting for POW-MIAs.
>> He wrote the first bill reducing acid rain.
>> He has repeatedly led the charge in protecting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from drilling.
>> He has passed legislation that shut down money laundering activities of terrorists and drug traffickers.
President Clinton Praised Kerry for Putting 100,000 COPS on the Street – “When we tried to get past six years of talking tough on crime but nothing happening, rhetoric and rhetoric and rhetoric and no action, to put 100,000 police on the street, to ban deadly assault weapons to pass the Brady bill, the other side, [the Republicans] led the fight against it. But John Kerry helped us pass the toughest, smartest, best crime bill this country has seen in many a day, and the crime rate has gone down for four years in a row. John Kerry was on the right side of history.” [Public Papers of the President: Fall River, MA; 8/28/96]
Democratic Leader Tom Daschle Says Kerry Knows How to Get the Legislative Job Done in the Senate - Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle had kind words for John Kerry’s work on Campaign Finance Reform when he asked Kerry to chair the Democratic Steering Committee: "From our teen-smoking bill to HMO reform and Campaign Finance Reform, John Kerry has demonstrated that he clearly knows how to get the job done. He is a valued and trusted member of our leadership team, and I am pleased he has accepted another term as Chairman of the Steering and Coordination Committee." [Daschle Press Release, 11/19/98]
Even Dr. Bill Frist, Senate Majority Leader Says Kerry’s Global AIDS Legislation is a “Huge Step Forward”: “’The Kerry-Frist bill is a huge step forward,” said [current Majority Leader Bill] Frist. “It further validates U.S. leadership in the global effort to end devastation many countries face in the fight against HIV/AIDS’.” [Office of Senator Frist, press release 7/12/02]
57 bills and resolutions John Kerry has sponsored over the years have passed the U.S. Senate. Countless others have been improved because of his work, including the Clean Air Act, the Children’s Health Insurance Program and the COPS program.
>> John Kerry has taken on the special interests and won.
>> He fought against Newt Gingrich’s anti-labor and anti-environmental regulatory reform.
>> He has fought to raise the minimum wage.
>> He has worked to shut down wasteful corporate subsidies.
>>And John Kerry played an important role in the effort to reach a settlement with the tobacco companies that ended marketing to children and teenagers.
************
The number of bills that bear your name is a poor measure of legislative accomplishment. For example, Ted Kennedy, who most would acknowledge as the most accomplished Democratic Senator in a generation, has had just 9 bills signed into law in 10 years. Of the more than 400 bills Kennedy sponsored in 108th, 105th and 104th Congresses none were signed into law. And Bill Frist, the Republican Majority Leader, has sponsored 88 bills in the 108th Congress and zero have become law. In the 107th Congress, Frist sponsored 52 bills and 1 became law. It was a bill to authorize and urge the President to promote democracy in Zimbabwe.

I really hope you are not trying to imply that Iraq had a powerful army. That is really hard to believe since Bill Clinton ordered occassional military bombings throughout Iraq, devasting many military installations. Even the "heavily trained" Al-Faydeen soliders barely put up a fight. Many soldiers surrendered. Hell, they even took care of our wounded soldiers whenever they were being hostage. Nothing extreme happened, not even one bridge was exploded. None of their airforce was deployed (like the MiGs in 1991) because they were mostly destroyed or grounded from Clinton's continuous bombings.
The situation now, on the other hand, is different. They are now sitting ducks in a dirty pond.

You keep bringing up this point....I don't know where he was and I don't really care. But one thing is for sure--we all know where Kerry was and what he was doing when he came back from Vietnam--strongly demonstrating his anti-American position/ideals and slamming the combat vets that he served with.
...and don't try to make excuses for him or paint it in a positive light either. There's nothing that you, Kerry or anyone else can do to undo what he did/said and the damage that it caused--especially to the vets returning from a hard fought war.
They received no hero's welcome in large part because of the actions that Kerry took upon his return from Vietnam.

It may be--or it may not be. Either way...it's funny and typical for there to be a double standard. It's ok for the Dems...but not the Republicans.

no no, you have me wrong - I'm not assuming a double standard, both parties have clearly violated the 527 laws. That is obvious, I'm not putting blame on one party specifically. What I am saying is that after all the denoucing on behalf of the Republican party ties are found - that doesn't do much to aid their credibility.

I was referring to the double standard in general terms--not you specificly having a double standard. :)

"Look at these two weevils. Which of them do you think is the stronger?"
"I'm um, I'm not sure."
"If you had to choose between them, which weevil would you favor?"
"(sarcastic) Well, in that case I shall choose the one on the right, for it is obviously stronger, broader, and faster than the other."
"Ha! That's where I have you. One of the most important rules in naval combat is...you always pick the lesser of two weevils."

When did I state I had proof, I just posted a link to a story and made a conclusion based on it. As far as biased websites are concerned - since when is Reuters biased? You ask me to give an unbiased source yet you make a thread for "info" and all it is are links from rush's website (http://www.houston-imports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113869)? How can you even begin to say that he is unbiased?

yeah, I know....he is definately biased :roflmao: , but IMO and its MO....he has the right idea and the big picture of the events as they were....he does state facts and the proof with the facts......he points out things that most people dont see or get the opportunity to see....based on facts and real stuff that happens

Heh...how could anyone say that he has a view of the big picture when he fumbles every fucking question he gets? We don't think he's retarded because he talks slow, we think he's retarded because after he's wasted so much of his time he hasn't told us anything....at least Kerry can think on his feet.

yet idiots like you think "miscalculation" and "lie" are synonyms.
Admitting he was wrong doesnt mean he wasnt telling the truth. Truth isnt defined by if what was being said is correct or incorrect, but rather whether the statement was made to decieve. Being wrong does not mean he intended to decieve.
Geez. Simple minds.

yep, hes (kerry) quick enough to realize when he needs to jump from one side of the fence to the other...Our President has stood fast and firm on his causes.
