engine: jdm b16

mods: intake, header, exhaust, test pipe.

how much hp do you think this engine is making at the crank? my friend was looking into a lighter flywheel, but he's heard that the rev time for stock b16's is quick enough(i agree). what would be the best next step for his engine? cams and a s-afc?

I dont know how anything could rev quick enough.. If it revs fast that means its making more power.. the faster the revs the more power.

nitrous or hondata, turbo... thats another good one.

Depending on which JDM motors you have. B16A1 makes about 158hp to the crank, and B16A Gen II makes 170hp to the crank. given your mod, you may gain a few more ponys (~10hp) at the crank.

Listen to what St00pid. He knows his shit yo.

he's got a b16a2, i would think the money would be better spent somewhere else on the engine than the flywheel...oh well we'l see. he wants n2o, but he'll detroy his engine in no time. he's also looking into making a b20vtec with his b16a2 head? i thought you had to use a head from a b18 series?

ah ha. thanks for clearing that up. this guy todl him he can complete the hybrid for him for only 2g's. so he might just save up and do that. of course, that bumps him into a autox class with porsches and bmw's but oh well:D
