View Full Version : Headlights?
Mine keep burning out...They are CATZ b/c PIAA didn't have super white ones for my car. I'm sick of buying headlight bulbs. Does anyone have any that don't burn out and last....maybe with a warranty or something?

you know why bc your harness is not meant for the bulbs, you have to buy the special kind of wire harness for those hyper white headlight bulbs, if not yor gnna have thsoe problems on and off. This harness brings the right 5000k to your bulbs.

Jenni, hit me up, I can get your HIDs or if you dont want HIDs, I'd recommend Raybrig bulbs. look just like HIDs. think there similar to HID 5000k, white wit a slight blue tint
Well my whole thing is PRICE. I can't afford hundreds of dollars for headlights...so please give me options that are reasonable. Unless of course someone just wants to buy me some! HAHA

from my experience selling ShowOff Krypton bulbs, all H1 and H3 bulbs have the tendency to burn out quicker then other size bulbs.
the H1 for ludes and rsx. they burn out quick, so do the h3 bulbs for projectors and fog lamps. I guess its because the bulb is so small.

Where can I get the right harness? Is there any particular kind? Thanks

I haven't heard that a special harness will extend the life of your bulbs.
the only reason I know that you need a harness is to prevent your stock wires from melting b/c the bulbs drawing too much wattage.
but other then that, I dont think any special harness would do anything.
if there is a harness, it would just be lower gauge wiring (thicker wires) that are set up with a relay direct to the power from the battery. rather then drawing power directly from the stock harness.

ok the main thing to worry about is what wattage of bulbs you are using. Your factory is rated at like 55 watts Raybrig makes a perfect hid similar bulb thats rated at like 5500 K wich is damn near hid. but the downfall is its around 80 bucks but you will NEVER have to replace. DO NOT buy those wring harness that increase brightness you can actually get the blubs hot enough to warp the headlight itself. I have the raybrigs I am talking about had um for about a year and a half with 0 problems

yes its the one i use and if you wanna be technical all hyprwhites are illegal for street use if they have even the slightest blue tint, says on evry box they come in. but cops usually wont pull you over for wrong headlights unless its blinding them like 8k and above will or if they are jsut straight blue

It sounds like you are running the wrong bulbs (more wattage than you need). Stock, my car's is 55watts, so when i was shopping for bulbs, i avoided anything over that, because you are risking frying a lot of wires and of course, your new bulbs.

with the new body ludes the way the lights are set up they give off to much heat if they are over 55 watts. so it is causeing them to overheat and pop. i havehad the same problem with them in my projectors. my buddy also has had the same problem with his lude. he even bought the hids and those blew too. he had such a problem with them he kept extra bulbs in his lude. till wefigured the problem out. you have t stay with 55 watt bulbs.

two ways to go:
OEM or HID.
look at it this way.. if you get say. "hyper white".. it'll seem like you're too poor to get HID.
if you go OEM.. you'll blend in.
get HID.. and you'll be better off. Of course, assuming your housing is able to handle it without blinding everything and everyone in sight.

if you do get HID, remember to get the bulbs that will fit your prelude housing. one of the HID bulbs (either D2S or d2r) is longer and will hit the reflector cover inside. and you will have to modifiy to fit.
